Unlike standard liquid tints that dry down flat, the velvet formula creates a soft-focus, slightly blurred effect on the lips that looks polished without being heavy.

This is the most common concern with matte formulas, and it's a fair one — most traditional matte lipsticks do dry out lips over time.
