Frequently asked questions

It's a lightweight moisturising emulsion — thinner than a cream, richer than a serum — that delivers retinyl palmitate (1000ppm), niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, and a vitamin complex in one daily-use step. It sits in your routine after your serum to moisturise, gradually support skin renewal, even out tone, and soften fine lines without the intensity of a dedicated retinol treatment.

They are related but not identical. Retinol is the active form of vitamin A that works directly on the skin. Retinyl palmitate is an ester — a gentler precursor that the skin converts into retinol after absorption. This emulsion contains retinyl palmitate at 1000ppm, not free retinol. That means it's significantly milder and less likely to cause dryness or peeling, making it a good starting point for anyone new to vitamin A products.

It works best for normal, dry, and combination skin types that want gradual anti-ageing support without the commitment of a dedicated retinol treatment. It's well-suited for people in their late 20s to 40s starting to see early fine lines, uneven skin tone, or loss of firmness — and for anyone who has tried stronger retinol products and found them too irritating. Sensitive skin types should still patch test, particularly because the formula contains fragrance.

In K-beauty, an emulsion goes between your serum and your moisturiser — or replaces the moisturiser step if your skin doesn't need a heavier cream. The layering logic is thin to thick: toner → serum → emulsion → cream. If you use this emulsion in summer or in a warm, humid climate, it may be sufficient on its own as a final moisture step. In colder or drier conditions, follow it with a cream.

Because the active vitamin A form here is retinyl palmitate rather than free retinol, it is significantly more stable in daylight and less photo-sensitising than a standard retinol product. It can reasonably be used both morning and evening. That said, any product containing vitamin A derivatives is best paired with SPF in the morning — not because this formula is high-risk, but as a general good habit when using any vitamin A daily.

Niacinamide appears sixth in the ingredient list, suggesting a concentration in the 2–5% range. At this level it reduces visible redness, helps regulate sebum production, minimises pore appearance, and supports even skin tone over time. Combined with retinyl palmitate, the two ingredients address similar concerns — uneven texture, early pigmentation, skin clarity — from different mechanisms, which makes the combination genuinely useful rather than decorative.

Yes — peanut oil (Arachis Hypogaea) is listed in the ingredients. For most people this is not a concern, as topical peanut oil in cosmetics behaves differently from ingested peanut protein. However, if you have a diagnosed peanut allergy — particularly a severe or IgE-mediated one — you should consult a dermatologist or allergist before using any product containing peanut-derived ingredients. Patch testing alone is not sufficient guidance in that case.
