Frequently asked questions

This is a hydration-focused face cream built for dry or moisture-depleted skin. Snail secretion filtrate — positioned high in the formula — provides humectant and repair support, while beeswax, mineral oil, and dimethicone form an occlusive layer that prevents moisture loss. Sodium hyaluronate and betaine add surface hydration. It does not brighten or treat pigmentation; its job is to restore and maintain the skin's moisture balance.

In this cream, snail secretion filtrate works within a rich occlusive base of beeswax, mineral oil, and dimethicone, meaning it primarily delivers surface-level hydration and barrier sealing. In a lighter serum or essence format, snail mucin can penetrate more readily into the upper skin layers. This cream is better suited for overnight use or dry skin that needs intensive barrier support, rather than as a treatment step for skin repair or texture.

No — Hydrolyzed Collagen in a topical cream cannot reach the dermis where structural collagen is produced. The molecule is too large to penetrate beyond the skin's surface. What it does is act as a surface humectant and emollient, helping skin feel smoother and more supple. Any collagen-building benefit requires different actives such as retinol or peptides, neither of which is present in this formula.

With caution. Allantoin and panthenol are genuinely soothing ingredients, and the absence of alcohol is a positive. However, the formula contains Bergamot Fruit Oil (Aurantium Bergamia) — a furocoumarin-containing essential oil that can cause phototoxic reactions when skin is exposed to sunlight after application. There is also added fragrance (Perfume). Those with fragrance sensitivity or reactive skin should patch test and avoid applying this cream before sun exposure.

Yes, they are designed for different areas. The Snail Mucus Moisture Cream is a full-face moisturiser with a richer, occlusive texture built on beeswax and fatty alcohols. The Snail Repair Eye Cream is formulated specifically for the thinner, more delicate skin around the eyes and includes niacinamide and adenosine for brightening and firmness. Use the eye cream around the orbital bone first, then layer the face cream over the rest of the face.

Evening use is preferable for this formula. The occlusive base of beeswax and mineral oil is rich enough to support overnight barrier repair, and avoiding the bergamot oil's phototoxicity risk means keeping it away from daytime sun exposure. If using in the morning, always follow with SPF. The texture is too heavy for oily or combination skin to wear comfortably under makeup.

Yes. It's the moisturiser step of the Snail Mucus Moisture line, following the toner and emulsion. Because the range shares snail mucin throughout, the products layer comfortably as a system — toner, emulsion, then this cream to seal everything in, with the eye cream around the eyes. Used together they build a consistent, hydrating routine.
