Medi-Peel Gold Age Tox H8 Cream

This is a multi-active anti-ageing cream formulated around seven peptides, five ceramides, niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, and a complex of 18 amino acids — targeting firmness loss, fine lines, barrier damage, and uneven tone simultaneously. It comes in a capsule-in-gel format: gold capsules suspended in a gel base that burst on application. It suits people from their mid-30s onward who want a single moisturiser that consolidates multiple anti-ageing functions without layering multiple serums.

The formula contains: Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 (Matrixyl) — stimulates collagen and hyaluronic acid production; Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 — support collagen synthesis and skin firmness; Copper Tripeptide-1 — promotes collagen and elastin, supports wound healing and skin renewal; Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 — a humectant peptide that also helps relax surface muscle tension over time; Oligopeptide-1 (EGF) — supports cell renewal; Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate (Syn-Ake®) — a synthetic peptide that mimics the muscle-relaxing effect of snake venom, softening expression lines with repeated use.

CERAcare AC-1 is Medi-Peel's proprietary blend of five ceramide types — Ceramide NP, Ceramide NS, Ceramide AS, Ceramide AP, and Phytosphingosine — which together replicate the natural ceramide profile found in healthy skin. Ceramides are the primary lipid component of the skin barrier; depleted ceramide levels are directly linked to dryness, sensitivity, and accelerated ageing appearance. The five-ceramide system addresses barrier repair more comprehensively than single-ceramide formulas typical of basic moisturisers.

Gold is present at 1.5ppb (parts per billion) — a trace concentration. At this level, gold functions primarily as a marketing differentiator and sensory element rather than a clinically significant active. The gold particles may offer very minor antioxidant or conductivity effects at the skin surface, but there is no strong peer-reviewed evidence that gold at sub-microgram concentrations produces measurable anti-ageing outcomes. The real functional work in this formula is done by the peptide complex, ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid.

Tremella Fuciformis (snow mushroom) is a polysaccharide-rich fungal extract with exceptional water-holding capacity — research suggests it can hold up to 500 times its weight in water, which exceeds standard hyaluronic acid benchmarks. In this formula both the extract and the sporocarp (fruiting body) extract are included, which provides hydration support from two complementary sources. It also has antioxidant properties and supports barrier function. It's one of the more interesting ingredients in the formula from a hydration science perspective.

With caution. The formula contains Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, which is a fragrance component and a common sensitiser for reactive skin. Independent ingredient analysis rates this product with a high irritation potential primarily because of this fragrance element. For most skin types, including combination and dry, it is well-tolerated. People with fragrance-sensitive or reactive skin should patch test before regular use. The ceramide and niacinamide base is otherwise well-suited to barrier-compromised skin.

It functions as the final moisturising step in a PM or AM routine — after cleansing, toning, and any serums. Because it already contains niacinamide, peptides, and ceramides, it can replace multiple targeted serums for people who prefer a simplified routine. In the morning, follow with SPF — peptides and niacinamide deliver better long-term results when UV damage is controlled. At night, it can be used as a standalone moisturiser or layered lightly over a hydrating serum for drier skin types.
