Frequently asked questions

A wrapping mask is a film-forming formula — you apply it like a cream, it dries to a thin flexible film on your skin, then you peel it off. This format does something a sheet or hydrogel mask can't: the physical act of peeling removes a superficial layer of dead skin cells and congestion along with the mask, leaving skin visibly smoother and more refined immediately after removal. The active ingredients — centella, collagen, camellia extract — work during the wear time, and the peel-off action amplifies the textural result.

Cicasome is Lamelin's term for nano-encapsulated centella asiatica (cica) delivery — centella's active compounds (madecassoside, asiaticoside, asiatic acid) are wrapped in liposome-like capsules that protect them until they reach the deeper layers of skin, where they release. Standard centella extracts in most masks sit near the skin surface. The nano-encapsulation ensures the calming, barrier-repairing actives penetrate where they're actually needed. This matters most for reactive, sensitive, or damaged skin where the barrier has already been compromised and topical actives struggle to get through.

The Camellia line builds every formula around Jeju Camellia japonica, and this mask is no exception. Camellia's high oleic acid content acts as a lipid-replenishing emollient that reinforces the moisture barrier directly — it's structurally similar to the skin's own lipids, which is why it absorbs without greasiness. It also provides antioxidant protection against the environmental damage that accelerates barrier breakdown. In this mask, camellia is the nourishing foundation that keeps the cica and collagen actives in a skin-friendly delivery environment.

Topical collagen in its full form doesn't penetrate skin — the molecules are too large. What matters here is the form: the Glass Bead encapsulation technology micro-encapsulates hydrolysed collagen, breaking it into smaller peptide fragments that can reach the upper dermis. Hydrolysed collagen at the surface also acts as a film-forming humectant — it holds water against the skin and temporarily improves texture and plumpness. The long-term benefit comes from collagen peptides signalling the skin to support its own collagen synthesis over consistent use.

It's ideal for anyone dealing with rough texture, dullness, mild congestion, loss of firmness, or a compromised barrier — and particularly useful for skin that's reactive or sensitive, because the Cicasome technology delivers calming actives without the irritation risk of conventional exfoliants. Use it one to two times a week in the evening, after cleansing and toning. Apply a generous, even layer, wait for it to dry to a film (typically 15 to 20 minutes), then peel slowly and gently from the edges. Follow with your usual serum and moisturiser — skin will be more receptive to absorbing them immediately after.

Yes — and it's actually one of the better choices for active-heavy routines. The cica (centella asiatica) in the Cicasome complex is one of the most established calming ingredients for skin under the stress of retinol or AHA/BHA use. It helps reduce the redness, sensitivity, and barrier disruption that actives can cause. Use this mask on a night when you skip your actives, not on the same evening. The peel-off action is mild mechanical exfoliation — combining it with a retinol or acid treatment in the same session is too much for most skin.

They share the Camellia line DNA but are designed for different jobs. The PDRN Hydrogel Mask is a leave-on hydration and repair treatment — its strength is deep moisture delivery and PDRN-driven cellular repair, and it's gentler, with no exfoliating effect. The Cicasome Collagen Wrapping Mask adds a physical exfoliation step via the peel-off, meaning it also addresses texture and mild congestion that the hydrogel doesn't touch. If you own both, alternate them: hydrogel when your skin needs recovery and intensive moisture, wrapping mask when it needs refinement and a reset.
