Lamelin Gold Snail Cleansing Foam – Hydrating & Repairing Facial Cleanser

Snail mucin cleansing foam with gold extract – deeply cleanses, hydrates, and improves skin elasticity without dryness.

Lamelin Gold Snail Cleansing Foam is a gentle yet effective facial cleanser that provides deep cleansing without stripping the skin. Enriched with snail mucin and gold extract, it helps support skin repair and improve elasticity.

The foam effectively removes makeup residue, excess oil, and daily impurities while maintaining the skin’s natural moisture balance. Snail mucin is known for its hydrating and restorative properties, leaving the skin soft, smooth, and refreshed.

Its rich lather and lightweight texture make it suitable for daily use on all skin types.

How to use: Apply a small amount to damp skin, lather into foam, gently massage, and rinse thoroughly.

Frequently asked questions

The main distinction is the surfactant base and the addition of snail mucin. Where many foaming cleansers use sulfate-based surfactants that strip the skin's moisture layer, this formula uses a fatty acid-based system — palmitic, stearic, myristic, and lauric acids with potassium hydroxide — that cleanses more gently and leaves the skin feeling soft rather than tight. Snail secretion filtrate at 600ppm adds a light soothing and conditioning quality during the brief contact time of cleansing. The result is a cleanser that does its job without the dry, stripped feeling that follows harsher foams.

In a leave-on product like a serum or cream, snail secretion filtrate has enough contact time to deliver its hydrating, barrier-repair, and regenerative benefits more fully. In a rinse-off cleanser, contact time is 30–60 seconds. At 600ppm and with this brief exposure, snail mucin primarily contributes a soothing, skin-softening quality that you feel immediately after rinsing — the skin doesn't feel tight or reactive. It does not deliver the regenerative effects that snail mucin is known for in leave-on products. Think of it as the ingredient that makes a cleanser feel noticeably nicer on the skin, not as the hero treatment active.

Yes — the fatty acid surfactant base is inherently gentler than sulfate-based formulas. Fatty acid cleansers maintain more of the skin's natural lipid barrier during washing, which is why this type of cleanser is commonly used in Korean skincare for normal to dry and sensitive skin types. The glycerin in the formula adds a hydrating cushion. If your skin is clinically reactive, note that the formula contains fragrance, which can be a sensitising ingredient for some people. For general dryness or mild sensitivity, this cleanser should work well used morning and evening.

It will remove light, everyday makeup — BB cream, light foundation, non-waterproof products. For a full face of makeup, heavy SPF, or waterproof products, it is better used as the second step in a double-cleanse: first remove the bulk of the makeup with a cleansing oil or micellar water, then follow with this foam cleanser to thoroughly cleanse the pores and skin surface. Using a foaming cleanser alone on heavy makeup can require excess rubbing to break down the products, which counteracts the gentleness of the formula

They do different jobs and work best together. The cleansing water is a micellar formula — no-rinse, applied with a cotton pad, best for removing makeup and surface impurities before washing. This foam cleanser is a water-activated wash that provides a deeper cleanse of the pores and skin surface, removes residual traces the micellar water leaves behind, and leaves skin freshly washed. If you wear makeup or SPF daily, use the camellia cleansing water first and this foam second. If you wear minimal or no makeup, this foam alone morning and evening is sufficient.

Normal, dry, and combination skin will benefit most — the fatty acid base and glycerin support moisture retention during cleansing, and the formula is not designed to address excess oil production. Oily and acne-prone skin may find it insufficiently clarifying, as it doesn't contain BHA, niacinamide, or clay to address sebum and congestion specifically. For oily skin, a gel-based or BHA-containing cleanser would be a better primary cleanser, with this formula potentially useful as a gentler morning wash when the skin needs less deep cleansing than the evening routine.

The gold in this formula is listed at 1.1ppm — a trace decorative concentration. As with the Lamelin Gold Snail Peeling Gel, at this level gold does not deliver functional anti-aging or skin-repairing effects. The "Gold Snail" name is a product line designation — it groups the cleansing foam and peeling gel as a matched cleansing system, both featuring snail mucin as the functional differentiator and gold as the identity element of the line. The genuine work in this cleanser is done by the fatty acid base for gentle cleansing and glycerin plus snail mucin for post-wash softness.
