Exfoliation & deep cleansing

An exfoliant — a scrub, peeling gel or exfoliating liquid — works by physically or chemically lifting away dead skin cells. A purifying mask works differently, drawing out oil, impurities and buildup as it sits on the skin. Both deep-clean, just through different mechanisms.

Most exfoliants and purifying masks work best 1–2 times a week rather than daily — overuse can leave skin sensitised instead of refreshed. Exfoliating liquids are the exception and should be introduced gradually, always followed by sunscreen the next morning.

Yes, with care. Milder mask formats tend to suit sensitive skin better than physical scrubs or peeling gels. Patch test anything new, start at a lower frequency, and stop if the skin feels tight, stinging or reactive afterward.
