Moisturiser

Moisturiser goes on as one of the final steps, after serum or essence, morning and evening. In the morning, always follow it with sunscreen. It seals in everything applied underneath and keeps the skin's barrier comfortable throughout the day.

An emulsion is typically lighter, applied after serum to seal in hydration before a heavier moisturiser or sunscreen. A face cream is usually richer and used as the final nourishing step. Some people use both layered together; others need only one, depending on skin type.

Oilier skin usually suits lighter gel or emulsion textures, while drier skin benefits from richer creams. Sensitive skin does best with simple, fragrance-free formulas. If unsure, a lightweight option is easier to build on than a heavy one that feels like too much.
